STRUCTURE

The MNRPF is set up under a trust and the trustee is a Company called Merchant Navy Ratings Pension Fund Trustees Ltd. This Company has a Board of Directors which is referred to as the Trustee Board.

The Trustee Board consists of 13 directors as follows:-

-	The Chairman of the Board who is appointed by the Chamber of Shipping.
-	The Chairman of the Investment Committee who is an independent non-voting director.
-	5 Employer directors appointed by the Chamber of Shipping (which is the Employers' representative body).
-	6 Beneficiary directors appointed by the Rail Maritime & Transport Union (RMT)

The Trustee Board has made provision for one of the directors appointed by the RMT to be elected from former members of the MNPRF who are now receiving an MNRPF pension (ie: members who themselves contributed to the Fund and are now pensioners).
